Perused the record. It is to be noted that the learned Advocate for the respondent had filed photo copy of death certificate of the respondent before this Court on 8.2.2021.

This Court, by order dated 23.2.2021 directed the APP to verify the fact regarding death of the sole respondent. Now, report has been received that the respondent has expired.

Present appeal has been filed by the State to challenge the acquittal of the respondent from the offence punishable under Sections 7, 13(1)(d) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. Under such circumstance, the respondent, i.e. accused has expired, the appeal abates and, therefore, it stands disposed of as abated.
