The petitioner, who is an elected sarpanch, has faced the order of disqualification under Section 14 (j-3) of the Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Act, 1958. He is before the appellate authority/Divisional Commissioner in an appeal preferred under Section 16 of the Maharashtra Gram Panchayat Act, 1958, and is anxious to have the matter decided earlier, at least his application seeking stay to the operation of the order passed by the Collector. 2.

Learned AGP, on instructions, submits that the Commissioner would decide the stay application within a period of one week. We accept the statement as an undertaking to the Court. 3.

The petition is disposed of.
