The petitioner claims that inadvertently there is an error in mentioning his caste in the school record. Instead of 'Sutar' , it has been mentioned as '

Gadilohar'. He has annexed a record to demonstrate that even in respect of his father, caste was recorded as 'Sutar' and to demonstrate that it was an obvious mistake covered by the ratio laid down in the case of Janabai Himmatrao Thakur Vs. State of Maharashtra &

We allow the writ petition and direct respondent no.3/Education Officer (Primary), Zilla Parishad, Nanded to take a decision in the petitioner'

s application [Exhibit-F] dated 10.03.2023 on its own merits and in the light of the decision in the case of Janabai Himmatrao Thakur (supra), as expeditiously as possible and in any case within four weeks. After such decision, if the correction is made in the primary school record, the respondent no.2/Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Nanded shall take further decision on the petitioner's representation dated 22.02.2023 [Exhibit-E) within four weeks of receiving the papers and it shall be responsibility of the petitioner to produce it before him.
