Heard Mr. Dhage, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. Talhar, learned A.S.G. for respondent no.2.

The petitioner prays for direction against respondent no.2 to issue passport with validity of 10 years, as the application at Exhibit 143 is allowed by the Hon'ble Session Judge under order dated 12.01.2021 in Special M.P.I.D. Case No.01/2007.

It appears that, criminal case bearing Special M.P.I.D. Case No.01/2007 is pending before the Additional Session Judge, Aurangabad. The petitioner applied for permission to travel abroad and further direction to Passport Authority for
(2) 933-wp-8452-2021 renewal of his passport vide Exhibit 143 in Special M.P.I.D. Case No.01/2007. The Additional Sessions Judge under order dated 12.01.2021 directed the Passport Authority to renew the passport of the present petitioner.

Pursuant to the said order the passport is renewed for 1 year.

The contention of the petitioner is that, in normal course the passport is renewed for 10 years and ought to have been renewed for 10 years. 6.
The affidavit is filed by the Superintendent of the Regional Passport Office accepting that, respondent no.2 is ready to issue 10 years valid passport, if the petitioner approaches the office of respondent no.2.

In light of that, no further orders are necessary. The respondent no.2 shall issue passport as affirmed in paragraph 5 of the affidavit.

Writ Petition accordingly disposed of. No costs.
