This case is a glaring example of a hapless Petitioner, who is a senior citizen and has retired 9 years ago, being made to run from pillar to post. He had to approach this Court on 3 occasions. Finally, in our last order dated 23rd October, 2023 when the matter was called out at 06.30 pm, we imposed cost on the Principal Accountant General and directed the Education Officer (Secondary), Z.P., Beed to clear the amounts with interest as forwarded to his office, within 30 days. Reliance was placed on Vasant Ramchandra Potdar Vs. The State of Maharashtra and Others, 2019 (2) AIR Bom. R 119. Vide said judgment, 10% interest was

granted.

The learned DSGI communicated on instructions that 9% interest has already been calculated in the matter. Yet, the Petitioner is not paid the interest. Our directions vide order dated 23rd October, 2023 have been violated by the Shri. Nagnath Shinde, Education Officer, Shri. Sampat Suryawanshi, Director of Education, Pune who, in turn, submits the necessary papers to Smt. Vandana Wahul, Deputy Director of Education.

The Petitioner needs to be compensated for having compelled to make repeated Petitions in this High Court, at the age of 70 years.

In view of the above, this Petition is disposed off with the following directions:

A) Each of the above three Officers shall deposit an amount of Rs. 10,000/- in this Court on or before 10.05.2024. The said amount will be withdrawn by the Petitioner without any conditions, upon identification by his learned Advocate and with a copy of the Aadhar Card.

B) The interest amount shall be paid to the Petitioner on or before 31.05.2024.

C) We make it clear that if this order, which is last in the series of orders that we have passed, is violated, we will hold these Officers responsible for aggravated contempt. (R. M. JOSHI, J) (RAVINDRA V. GHUGE, J) Malani
