This is an application received via Post from the prisonerconvict Jagan Anna Sherkhane, through the Jail Superintendent. He has been granted emergency parole on the usual conditions in vogue. By this letter application, he submits that he is willing to furnish two cash sureties of Rs.20,000/- each and prays for relaxation of condition of one solvent surety.

The learned Prosecutor express his grave apprehension contending that several prisoners who have been granted emergency parole, are reported to have again resorted to commission of crimes and it is also learnt that some of such beneficiaries are untraceable. So also, a surety in the like amount by a close relative and not a coprisoner, would have a binding effect.

In view of the above, we are partly accepting the request of the petitioner as under :- (a) He would furnish a cash surety of Rs.20,000/-. (b) He would submit one solvent surety in the like amount. (c) The writ petition is, therefore, disposed of in the above terms.
