The petitioner states that his land has been acquired for the purpose of construction of minor irrigation project at Ukanda, Tq. Patoda, Dist. Beed. In the year 1985, possession of the same has been taken over. In the year 1989, land acquisition proceedings were initiated and subsequently, award was passed. It appears that the petitioner has applied for rental compensation for the period from 1985 to the date of passing of the award and the same has not been decided as yet.

In view of the same, we deem it appropriate to direct the respondents to decide the application of the petitioner, if not already decided, as early as possible, preferably within a period of six months from today. All the points are kept open for the parties. 3.

Writ petition stands disposed of.
