ORDER :

1) Issue notice to respondents. The learned AGP waives service of notice for the respondents.

2) The petitioner seeks stepping up of his pay scales at par with his junior who had acquired Ph.D. qualification subsequent to 2006. The petitioner had acquired Ph.D. qualification in the year 1999.

3) The issue is no longer res integra, in view of the various judgments of this court. Reference can be had to one of the judgment in Writ Petition No. 4090/2016 dtd. 20/06/2016. 4) In the light of above, we pass following order : In the result, the petition is allowed. We direct the respondents to step up the salary of the petitioner to bring it at par with that of Dr. C.M. Pawara, refix the pay of the petitioner accordingly and pay arrears to him as expeditiously as possible

2 920 wp5555-18 and in any case within a period of three months from today in accordance with the judgment and order passed by this Court in the case of Sudamrao Keshawrao Aher and others Vs The State of Maharashtra and others (supra).

5) Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
