Learned counsel for the applicant submits that since the applicant was behind the bars and his wife is no more, he could not prefer the appeal in time.

The application is opposed by the State, contending that the reason for delay is not sufficient.

After hearing learned counsel for the parties and perusal of the record, we are convinced that sufficient cause is shown to condone the delay.
