Mr. Solanke, the learned Counsel for the petitioners submits that possession of the land of the petitioner is taken way back in the year 2003. the notices were also issued. On 19.03.2013, a notice under Section 9 of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 was also issued. No award is passed. The learned Counsel submits that the respondents be directed to commence acquisition proceeding as per the new Act.

The learned Additional Government Pleader appears for respondent Nos.1 to 3.

Considering the fact that steps are not taken for acquisition, we direct the respondents to commence the acquisition proceeding within a period of four months from today and shall complete it within the time stipulated under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
