The learned Advocate for the Petitioner submits that his grievance as regards the proposed private negotiations would not survive as the competent authority has published a Notification in the Maharashtra Government Gazette June 2-8, 2022 and have declared compulsory acquisition, which covers the land of the Petitioner. She is a widow, who is around 33 years of age and has a minor girl child. He, therefore, prays that directions be issued that the acquisition should be completed within one (01) year.

The learned AGP submits that the acquisition undertaken under the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013 has an inbuilt mechanism of completing the acquisition within one (01) year and pronouncement of the Award. The authorities are duty bound to comply with the said scheme.

In view of the above, this Petition is disposed off.
