The petitioner, who claims to be more than 65 years of age and suffering a sentence is seeking to derive benefit of Government Resolution dated 10.01.2006 which inter alia enables assessment of the prisoners aged 65 years for premature release.

We dispose of the writ petition by directing the respondent no.1 to take appropriate steps for decision on the petitioner's application (Exh.-B) dated 06.02.2023, as expeditiously as possible and in any case within three weeks.
