All these Petitioners are aggrieved by the notice issued by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation calling upon them to deposit the Provident Fund contributions of those employees deployed by them.

The impugned notice is based on a verdict delivered by this Court on 22.03.2022 in Writ Petition No.3527 of 2022, filed by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation.

Considering the provisions of the Employees' Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provision Act, 1952 and the mandate that even if a daily wager works for a single day, provident fund contributions have to be deposited, that we expressed our disinclination taking into account the huge number of employees being pressed into service by these Petitioners / Contractors.

The learned Advocate for the Petitioners submits that the Petitioners desire to withdraw this Petition and would respond to the notice dated 13.04.2022.

The Writ Petition is dismissed as withdrawn.
