The Petitioners claim to be sufferers of the act of a purported money lender. Certain proceedings under the Money Lending Act have been commenced under the Maharashtra Money-Lending (Regulation) Act, 2014. The proceedings were initiated in 2023. They pray for an early conclusion of the said proceeding, which is conducted by Respondent No. 4.

The learned AGP submits that Respondent No. 4 would follow the due procedure laid down in law and would ensure that there is no delay in the proceedings and conclude the same within 90 days. He further submits that the Assistant Registrar Cooperatives,

The learned Advocate for the Petitioner has not pressed the other reliefs, since we expressed our disinclination to entertain prayers for any roving inquiry against officers on the basis of unsubstantiated and bald allegations.

In view of the above, let the said authority at Yawal follow the due procedure and conclude the inquiry within 45 days and submit a report to Respondent No. 4. Thereafter, the Respondent No. 4 would proceed with the said proceedings and conclude the same by following the due procedure laid in law within 90 days.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition stands disposed off.
