The petitioner seeks termination of pregnancy. The petitioner was referred to the Expert Committee of Government Medical College and Hospital, Aurangabad. The Expert Committee examined the petitioner and submitted its report. The relevant part of the report reads thus : "11.

Examination of girl/women done by : All Members of Committee 12.

Counselling done by Dr. Pradip Deshmukh, Assist.Professor, Psychiatry.

Recommendations by Medical Board for termination : Recommended

Recommended Medical termination of pregnancy because if the child were born it would carry substantial risk to its life. Termination of pregnancy carries due maternal risk. Surgical intervention & blood transfusion may be required. The risk involved in the said procedure is explained to the patient & her relatives.

The Committee has recommended termination of pregnancy because it is opined that if the child were born it would carry substantial risk to its life. Surgical intervention & blood transfusion may be required. The risk involved is explained to0 the petitioner and her relatives. 3.

Mr Kulkarni learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is apprised of the risk involved in the termination of pregnancy. The petitioner wants to proceed with the termination of pregnancy. 4.

In view of the report of the Expert Committee, the petitioner is permitted to terminate the pregnancy at Government recognised center. 5.

Writ petition is disposed of. No costs.
