The applicant has been convicted for the offence punishable under Section 8 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and sentenced to suffer simple imprisonment of six months and to pay fine of Rs.3,000/-, in default, to suffer simple imprisonment for one month.

The appeal is not likely to come up for hearing in near future. In the fitness of things, the execution of substantive sentence
(( 2 )) P1(B)-Cri-Appln-1611-2022 of imprisonment to stand suspended pending the appeal. The applicant be released on his executing P. R. bond in the sum of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) with surety bond in the like amount.
