On 5.3.2020, the Education Officer has already apprised respondent no.3 of the change of name of the mother of the petitioner. It has been held that Rule 26.4 of the Secondary School Code is directory in nature. Moreover, the Education Officer has also directed for correcting the name of petitioner's mother.

In view of that, respondent no.3 shall take necessary steps for correcting the name of the petitioner's mother in S.S.C. certificate, marks memo. The same shall be done expeditiously, preferably within four weeks. 3.

Writ Petition disposed of. No costs.
