Compliance with Section 390 of the Code of Criminal Procedure is not necessary as the companion appeals are ready for hearing. In the companion appeals, the Honourable Supreme Court had directed that the appeals be decided on or before September 2021. The other appeals were already heard by the earlier Bench and the matter had remained undecided. Therefore, there is urgency in the matter. In this view of the matter, since the paper-books are ready and record and proceedings are before this Court, we are inclined to hear

Considering the volume of evidence, reasonable time will have to be given to learned counsel for the respondent for final disposal. Since the Honourable Supreme Court has already made it time bound and that time is already over, the matters will have to be decided peremptorily on the next date when they are fixed for final hearing. Place this matter on final hearing board on 17th August, 2022 peremptorily at 02:30 pm.
