By this petition, the petitioner challenges the order dated 11.09.2014 passed by the Minister of State for Home, Maharashtra State dismissing the appeal filed by the petitioner and confirming the order dated 22/23.05.2008 passed by the Deputy Police Commissioner (Head Office), Police Commissionerate, Aurangabad whereby, the petitioner's firearm licence was cancelled.

The petitioner was granted firearm licence on
*2* 27.01.2003. The petitioner was served with show cause notice dated 10.03.2008 as to why his firearm licence should not be cancelled. This notice was issued on the basis of two offences registered against the petitioner, namely, FIR No.70/2007 registered with Osmanpura Police Station for the offences punishable under Sections 130, 131 and 132 of the Indian Penal Code and FIR No.465/2007 registered with Kranti Chowk Police Station for the offences punishable under Sections 143, 147, 353, 427 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code.

Today, learned advocate for the petitioner submits that in the said two offences on the basis of which the petitioner's firearm licence was cancelled, the petitioner has been discharged. In view of this subsequent development of discharging the petitioner, learned advocate seeks leave to withdraw this petition with liberty to the petitioner to approach the concerned authority for renewal of firearm licence.

In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of. Both the impugned orders are quashed and set aside. The petitioner is granted liberty to approach the concerned authority for renewal of his firearm licence and the concerned authority
*3* shall consider such application of the petitioner and pass appropriate order in accordance with law.
