Petitioner claims to be belonging to Koli Mahadev caste which is included in Scheduled Tribe category. Since petitioner has secured admission to engineering course in respondent no. 3 - college, tribe certificate issued in favour of petitioner is referred for scrutiny to respondent no. 1 - Committee and the verification proposal is stated to be pending.

In the circumstances, this petition can be disposed of by issuing directions to respondent no. 1 - Committee to take decision on the caste certificate verification proposal of petitioner as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of six months from today and, it is accordingly directed.

In the meanwhile, respondent no. 3 shall not take any adverse action against petitioner on the ground of his failure to submit validation certificate and, appropriate steps may be taken depending upon the outcome of the proposal for verification of the caste certificate pending with respondent no. 1 - Committee. 4.

With the directions as above, writ petition stands disposed of.
