By the impugned order dated 29.11.2023, respondent No.3 - Divisional Deputy Director of Education, Latur has refused to exercise the powers under Clause 26.4 of the Secondary School Code for correction of petitioner's school record only on the ground that he is no longer studying in the school.

We have heard learned Advocate for petitioner and learned AGP for respondent Nos.1 to 3.

907_WP_9083_2025 The writ petition is disposed of directing respondent No.3 to reconsider the proposal of petitioner on its own merits and in the light of observations and conclusions drawn in the matter of Janabai Himmatrao Thakur vs. The State of Maharashtra and others [2019 (6) Mh.L.J. 769] (FB), as expeditiously as possible and in any case within eight weeks.
