PER COURT :- The appeal, preferred by the petitioner, raising objection to his disqualification to continue as the councilor of the Municipal Council is stated to be pending with the State Government. It is the contention of the petitioner that the appeal is not being taken up for consideration and in the mean while the programme of the election for filling up the vacant seat is being pursued. In the facts and circumstances of the case, the ends of justice would be met by directing State Government - respondent No.1 to take decision on the appeal, presented by the petitioner, as expeditiously as possible and preferably within a period of four weeks from today. The petitioner as well as respondent No.5 undertake to appear before the Honourable Minister on 12.6.2018 and as such, no separate notice for ensuring their presence before the State Government would be necessary.
