The petitioner has put forth prayer Clause 'A' as under :- (A) By a writ of mandamus, the respondent No.2 Scrutiny Committee may kindly be directed to decide the tribe claim of the petitioner as expeditiously as possible and preferably within six months.

The claim of the petitioner is pending since 25/07/2013. The learned AGP submits on instructions that the pending proceedings would be decided within four months.

In view of the above, this petition is disposed off. The Competent Committee i.e. the present Committee at Dhule, would ensure that the proceedings are concluded on or before 30/12/2022. Considering the pendency of the claim for the past about nine years, the Committee would not seek extension of time. 4.

In view of the above, respondent No.3 would not dispense with the service of the petitioner only on the ground that he does not have a validity, until the pending proceedings are decided. In the event, the claim of the petitioner is invalidated, this protection would extend to a period of two weeks from the date of the adverse decision of the Committee.
