The Petitioners have moved this Court invoking Writ jurisdiction for a direction to Respondent No.4 to decide their applications moved as recently as on 09.01.2025 and 03.02.2025 for correction of city survey record and to mutate the name of the Petitioner No.1 in ownership column concerning the subject property.

The learned counsel for the Petitioner submits that Respondent No.4 ought to have decided the application within 90 days. He was unable to show statutory provisions in support of said contention. We have seen this tendency of filing applications before the Revenue Authorities and officers and within months rushing to this Court for such
( 2 ) 1024 wp 7817.25 direction to the concerned officer to decide the application. We suspect that this ploy is adopted only to put pressure on the officers, who are otherwise also overburdened with such applications and other work. 3.
Such petitions have been on the increase with the result that this Court is required to devote a lot of time on such petitions and other important questions of law and matters remain pending without any decision.

The learned AGP submits that if a direction is issued, the Respondent No.4 should make an endeavor to dispose of the application of the Petitioner within a reasonable period of time. 5.
The petition is disposed of with a direction to Respondent No.4 to decide the application of the Petitioners as expeditiously as possible and preferably within six months from today.
