The Petitioner before us prays for an out of turn expeditious hearing in pending MWA No. 13 of 2021 and MWA No.12 of 2021. These matters, seeking difference in the minimum wages, are pending before the second Respondent No.2, Assistant Commissioner of Labour, Ahmednagar.

Time and again, we have observed that merely because a litigant approaches this Court, would not mean that the High Court should issue orders for an out of turn hearing. Several litigants are in queue. Each litigant desires that his matter be decided earlier. Issuing such blanket orders would delay the hearing in the matters which are filed prior to the said proceedings.

We are told that there are around 13 cases, filed prior to these two proceedings, which are pending. As such, both these Writ Petitions are disposed off with the directions that these two proceedings shall be decided in queue with the pending proceedings considering the date of lodging. If the matters under the Minimum Wages Act are pending, by way of a general direction we expect Respondent No.2 to speed up the hearing in these matters since they pertain to payment of minimum wages or difference in payment of minimum wages and unnecessary adjournments in such matters should be avoided.
