CORAM : S.V.GANGAPURWALA & V.K.JADHAV,JJ.

Date : 23.06.2015.

PER COURT :

1.

In this matter direction is sought against respondents to accept the preference form of petitioner

without insisting for validity certificate of the student from the Scheduled Tribe category.

2.

The learned Assistant Government Pleader has placed on record the circular issued by the State stating that even from the students of the Scheduled Tribe category, the validity certificates would not be insisted and the preference form would be accepted on the basis of the undertaking and those students will have to submit the proof of submission of application showing that matter/proposal is referred to the Committee for validation of caste certificate.

3.

In the light of the above, the major grievance of petitioner stands redressed.

4.

In this writ petition, the proposal for validation is pending with the Committee. The learned counsel for the Committee submits that, considering large number of proposals pending with the Committee, it would take some time for deciding validation proceedings.

5.

The respondent/committee shall endeavour to decide the validation proceeding expeditiously and preferably within a period of one (01) year from today. The petitioner

shall co-operate in expeditious disposal of the validation proceedings. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. No costs.
