The petitioners are seeking benefit of financial aid to be granted to the persons who had undergone imprisonment during emergency.

It is pointed out that though the scheme was dis-continued interragnum, it has been revived by the Government resolution dated 28-07-2022.

The learned advocate for the petitioners also places on record another application addressed by petitioners to the Collector dated 29-08-2022 seeking a relief and the Collector in response by his

2 WP / 4466 / 2021 letter dated 19-09-2022 has informed them that their proposals are under active consideration.

In view of the afore-mentioned supervening events, we dispose of the petition by directing the respondent - Collector to take decision on the petitioners' applications as early as possible and in any event within six weeks from today.
