The petitioner joined employment as a bus conductor on 3rd August 1998. He submitted his proposal for validation of 'Thakur' scheduled tribe on 20.6.2021. Only after the employer gave an ultimatum that if he does not submit a validity, he would not be entitled for retiral benefits by communication dated 9.5.2022, that the petitioner has approached this Court, rather than approaching the Committee for an expeditious decision.

Not a single blood relative of the petitioner has been granted Validity of belonging to Thakur scheduled tribe. His school record indicates his caste as brj ekxkloxhZ; (OBC). Some of the school records of the relatives indicate that they belong to Hindu Thakur. 3.

In view of the above, the learned AGP submits that the Committee would decide the pending claim of the petitioner within

WP No.7897/22 six months.

As such, this petition is disposed off. The Committee shall decide the claim of the petitioner, on or before 28th February, 2023. 5.

The petitioner shall render whole-hearted cooperation and if he seeks an adjournment on unreasonable or trivial grounds, the Committee would be justified in progressing to the next stage in the proceedings.
