Petitioners are objecting to non-prescription of reservation for Scheduled Caste category for the general elections of Village Panchayat Karki for the term between 2015-2020. According to petitioners, during the earlier election, a seat was prescribed for Scheduled Caste category, however, while publishing reservation for 2015 election, such reservation is not prescribed. According to respondents, total population of the village is 2423 and nine seats of members of village panchayat are admissible. Population of Scheduled Caste category in the village is 106 and taking into consideration the population, the factor for determination of reservation comes to 0.39 which is less than required ratio of 0.5. Seat for Scheduled Caste category is not admissible based upon the census figures published by the Government. In view of above, no interference is called for in the

Pending civil application, if any, does not survive and stands disposed of.
