Heard. The applicant is seeking correction of his school record to correct the name of his father and mother.

The learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that the headmaster of the school has already forwarded the proposal to the respondent No.2-The Education Ofcer (Secondary) on 23.03.2023.

Pertinently, in Writ Petition No.4200/2023 by the order dated 3rd May 2023 instead of respondent No.2, the Education Ofcer (Secondary), the Education Ofcer (Primary) was made the respondent No.2, this Court directed to consider the same request of the petitioner. However, present petition has been fled since only the Education Ofcer (Primary) has taken the decision, but the respondent No.2 -Education Ofcer (Secondary) has not decided the proposal so that even the secondary school record can be corrected and thereafter on that basis the respondent No.3 -Board could correct the record.

The writ petition is disposed of by directing respondent No.2 to consider and decide the proposal received by his ofce from the school on it own merits and in the light of the various decisions of this Court including Janabai Vs. State of Maharashtra 2019

Considering the exigency, respondent No.2 is directed to decide the proposal dated 23.03.2023 as

--3-- expeditiously as possible and in any case within two weeks.

The learned AGP shall communicate this order to the respondent No.2 immediately.
