Objection raised by petitioner is in respect of preparation of voters' list and prescription of number of seats of elected candidates in a particular ward. Learned counsel for State Election Commission points out that the programme of election has commenced and today onwards is the period prescribed for acceptance of nomination papers. In this view of the matter, no interference is called for in the petition in exercise of extra ordinary jurisdiction under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. Keeping the option to raise appropriate challenge at appropriate stage, open for the petitioner, writ petition stands rejected.
