Heard learned advocate for the petitioner. He submits that the petitioner was entitled to the selection grade with effect from 01.07.1998, but has been accorded it with effect from 01.07.2001.

Without expressing anything on merits, we dispose of the writ petition by direction the respondent-Chief Executive Officer to decide the petitioner's representation mentioned hereinabove, if it has not been already decided, on it's own merits, as expeditiously as possible and in any event within a period of eight weeks from today.
