The Petitioner is under an apprehension that the Passport Office at Mumbai may not renew his passport. A criminal case bearing Regular Criminal Case No. 650 of 2017 ( Old - Criminal M.A. No. 1949 of 2013), with regard to offence committed under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, is pending before the learned JMFC, Aurangabad.

Since there is neither a communication, much less an official order rejecting request for renewal of passport, we do not deem it appropriate to issue a Writ of Mandamus on speculation. 3.

The learned Standing Counsel for the Union of India would convey to the Passport Office at Mumbai to deal with the application of the Petitioner in accordance with the provisions of law.
