Mr. Palodkar, learned counsel for the respondents, Mr. Deshmukh, learned counsel for the respondents and learned A.G.P. for respondent/State have raised a preliminary objection that the petitioners have alternate remedy by way of election petition. 3.

In light of that, though the learned counsel for the petitioners sought to canvass submissions on merit, we are not inclined to consider the same. 4.

Writ Petitions are disposed of with liberty to the petitioners to avail alternate remedy of election petition or such other proceedings, as are permissible in law.

Needless to state the petitioners may take benefit of section 14 of the Limitation Act, as may be
