Petitioner - association of handicapped members claims that its members were appointed as forest guards in the year 2006.

Petitioner claims, government resolutions dated 27-09-2007 and 10-02-2009 have been issued by the Department of Revenue and Forest, Government of Maharashtra. Because of said government resolutions now, promotions to members of the petitioner - association are not available which were available at the time of their recruitment.

Learned counsel appearing on behalf of petitioner tenders across a copy of proposal submitted on 01-04-2017 by Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forest, Government of Maharashtra, Nagpur to the Secretary (Forest), Department of Revenue and Forest, Government of Maharashtra, Mantralaya, Mumbai in respect of the subject issue. Copy of said proposal is taken on record and marked 'X' for the purpose of identification. 4.

Learned counsel at this stage makes a limited prayer to direct the Secretary (Forest), Department of Revenue and Forest, Government of Maharashtra, Mantralaya, to attend to aforesaid proposal and decide the same.

Learned Additional Government Pleader submits that in case aforesaid proposal is pending with the Secretary, the same will be attended to by him.

Without expressing any opinion on merits of the claim of the petitioner - association, in case the proposal has been received by the Secretary (Forest), Department of Revenue and Forest, Government of Maharashtra, Mantralaya and is pending, we direct the Secretary to look into the same and take appropriate decision keeping in view the claim made by the petitioner and / or similarly situated persons in the State of Maharashtra.

We expect the concerned Secretary to take appropriate decision at the earliest preferably within a period of three months from today.

Writ petition, with aforesaid, is disposed of. 9.

Learned Additional Government Pleader to communicate this order to the authorities concerned.
