The State Government has issued an Ordinance on 24.6.2018 directing extension of time for submission of the caste validity certificate for enabling the students to secure admission to professional courses. In view of the provisions of the Ordinance, the admission regulatory authority has been entrusted with the responsibility of prescribing the last date for submission of caste validity certificate by a candidate. The State of Maharashtra, State Common Entrance Test Cell, Mumbai has published schedule for activities for admission to first Year of Under Graduate Professional Courses for the year 2018-19. The State has prescribed 10th August 2018 as a last date for submission of caste validity certificate by the candidates desirous of securing admission to the first Year Professional Courses of B.E/Tech, B.Pharmacy/Pharm. D., B.Arch,

B.HMCT, MBA/MMS. So far as M.C.A. Course is concerned, the last date prescribed is 19th August 2018. Similarly, for M.E./M.Tech., M.Pharm courses, the last date prescribed for submission of caste validity certificate is 27th August 2018. For the professional courses, i.e. M.Arch, M.HMCT, the last date prescribed is 19th August 2018. For ready reference, the chart indicating the name of the course and details as per the Ordinance dated 24th June 2018 prescribing last dates for submission of caste validity certificate by the candidates post-wise is recorded as below:

Considering this aspect, the ends of justice would be that directing the concerned Scrutiny Committees to take decisions in respect of caste validation proposal of each of the petitioner in observance of the procedure in the relevant rules, as expeditiously as possible, preferably before 5th August 2018 and it is accordingly directed.

The petitioners before us undertake to co-operate the Scrutiny Committee in expeditious disposal of the validation proceedings. 4.
