The grievance expressed by the petitioner in this writ petition dated 25th June, 2014 is that her tribe claim has been pending for decision before the respondent No. 2 / Scheduled Tribe Caste Certificate Scrutiny Committee, Nandurbar, since 31st August, 2004.

Mr. Golegaonkar, learned advocate appearing for the petitioner prays for direction on the respondent No.2 to decide the tribe claim as early as possible.

Mr. Patil, learned AGP appears for respondents 1 and 2 and prays for six months' time to permit the respondent No. 2 to

{2} wp7031-14.odt consider the petitioner's claim and to take an appropriate decision thereon.

4.

It is unfortunate that the claim of the petitioner has been kept pending for more than seventeen years. We accordingly decline the prayer of the learned AGP.

5.

While disposing of this writ petition, we direct the respondent No. 2 to decide the tribe claim of the petitioner in accordance with law, as early as possible, but not beyond three months from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. 6.

No costs.

All contentions are left open.
