The petitioner retired from the Government employment on the date of superannuation on 30.06.2015. He is seeking benefit of the last increment drawn by him notionally on 01.07.2015 as has been held by the Supreme Court in the matter of the Director(Admn. And Hr) Kptcl vs C.P. Mundinamani, reported in 2023 LiveLaw(SC) 296. 2.

The writ petition is allowed.

It is declared that the petitioner is entitled to one notional increment for the purpose of pensionary benefits which he earned on 01.07.2015 and the consequential benefits.

The respondents shall take appropriate steps as expeditiously as possible and in any case within six months.
