In view of Section 164 of Indian Electricity Act, 2003, the public notice dated 27.12.2020 came to be issued by respondent - electricity authorities inviting objections from the person affected in the matter of implementation / execution of high tension line for providing high tension supply to the Railway Department. 2.
The case of petitioners is, vide order dated 19.05.2022 in exercise of powers under Section 16 (1) of Indian Telegraph Act, 1885 and Indian Electricity Act, 2003, petitioners were termed as an obstructor and order of injunction is passed by the District Collector, Latur. According to petitioners, in deference to the aforesaid notification inviting objections, petitioners have approached well within time to respondent authorities i.e. on 21.12.2021, 23.12.2021,
however till this date neither the objections of petitioners are decided, nor compensation is paid.

The objections be decided by competent authority constituted to decide the same, pursuant to the provisions of Section 164 of the Indian Electricity Act, 2003, as expeditiously as possible and in any case by 31.05.2023, if not already decided. The petition stands disposed of in above terms. However, petitioners are at liberty to approach the competent authority, if so required, by questioning the impugned order afresh.
