PER COURT :- 1.

The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that, the petitioner has made representation on 24.02.2015 for changing his caste in the school record. According to the learned counsel, no action is being taken by the respondents on the said application of the petitioner. The learned counsel submits that, Rule 26.4 of Appendix VI of the Secondary School Code is directory in nature.

The learned A. G. P. and Mr. Mali the learned counsel for the respondents oppose the petition.

In the present case, the petitioner wants to change the caste mentioned in his school record in the year, 1964. The application has been given in the year, 2015. After a long

2 WP6730.15 slumber of fifty years naturally on account of such an inordinate delay the application cannot be considered. As we are not entertaining this petition on ground of delay we have not considered other aspects of the matter.
