By this application, the applicants are seeking quashment of the criminal proceedings initiated against them in pursuance to lodging of FIR bearing Crime No. 47 of 2017, registered with Chopda City Police Station, Chopda for offences punishable under Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act and Sections 420, 504, 506 r/w Section 34 of the Indian penal Code.

Parties i.e. the applicants and respondent No. 2 have decided to settle their differences. The terms of compromise duly

2 APPLN2865.2017 signed by the applicants and respondent no. 2 have been presented. The terms of settlement are verified before the Section Officer. The parties are identified by their respective counsels. The parties i.e. the applicants and respondent No. 2 are present before the court and admit the contents of the terms of compromise. The accused and respondent No. 2 have together decided to go ahead with the marriage ceremony of the accused No. 1 Rahul with Kavita, the daughter of the complainant-respondent No. 2, without insisting for the demand of dowry. The members of the family of the applicants have assured not to cause harassment to the daughter of the complainant-Kavita, or demand dowry.

The terms of settlement presented are taken on record and marked as "X" for the purpose of identification. 4.

In view of the settlement reached between the parties, criminal proceedings initiated against the applicants-accused in pursuance to lodging of FIR bearing Crime No. 47 of 2017, registered with Chopda City Police Station, Chopda, for offences punishable under Sections 3 & 4 of the Dowry Prohibition Act and Sections 420, 504, 506 r/w Section 34 of the Indian penal Code, are quashed.
