Heard learned counsel for the petitioner.

By this petition, the petitioner is seeking a writ of mandamus to direct the Additional Tehsildar, Aurangabad to take effective steps for mutating the name of the petitioner in 7/12 extract concerning the subject property.

The documents at Exhibit - B shows that the 7/12 extract records the co-operative housing society, as the owner of the subject land. This 7/12 extract is sought to be attacked by the petitioner, on the ground of legal heirship certificate obtained upon death of his father. Petitioner claims that his father was a life member of the co-operative housing society and, therefore, having obtained the legal heirship
2 WP /8606 / 2025 certificate, the name of the co-operative housing society should be replaced with his name in the revenue record i.e. the 7/12 extract. 4.
We fail to understand that how the prayer of the petitioner can be accepted, for the simple reason that the owner of the subject property is the co-operative housing society, as recorded in the revenue record i.e. the 7/12 extract and merely because father of the petitioner was one of the life members of the co-operative housing society, does not vest any right in the petitioner to claim such a relief. 5.
The grievance sought to be raised on behalf of the petitioner is completely misplaced. Therefore, we decline to entertain such a writ petition. The writ petition also ought not to be entertained for such a relief pertaining to entries in the revenue records, which are governed by the Maharashtra Land Revenue Code, 1966. 6.
The writ petition is dismissed.
