The petitioners' grievance is that petitioner No.1 approached respondent No.2 - the Head Master of the School, for correction of school record as his mother's first name is wrongly shown in the school leaving certificate. First name should be 'Gangavati', but it was recorded as "Madhuri". The application was made to respondent No.2 - Head Master of the School. The same was forwarded to respondent No.1 - The Education Officer (Secondary), Zilla Parishad, Aurangabad, vide letter/representation dated 18.06.2024. However, respondent No.1 - Education Officer has not taken any decision.

We dispose of the writ petition by directing respondent No.1Education Officer to take decision on the application of petitioners, as expeditiously as possible, in the light of decision in Janabai Himmatrao Thakur vs. State of Maharashtra and others, AIR OnLine 2019 BOM 1055 and the provision of Clause 26.4 of the Secondary School Code, within three months from today on its merit.
