The petitioner is a student of respondent no.4-school. Her place of birth was recorded in the school record as Shendurwada. She solicited correction of place of birth by submitting an application, which is rejected by respondent no. 4 vide a letter dated 10.06.2024 on the ground that the petitioner ceased to be student of the school. The respondent no. 4 had no jurisdiction to reject the application by citing such a reason. 3.

The writ petition is allowed partly. The impugned letter dated 10.06.2024 is quashed.

Respondent no. 4 shall forward the application/proposal of the petitioner to respondent no. 3 for further consideration within one week. Respondent no. 3 shall decide the proposal of the petitioner within three weeks.
