The petitioner - management is awaiting decision by the government on a favourable proposal forwarded by the respondent - university to it for permission to the petitioner - management to start new colleges.

We have heard both sides.

It does appear from the communication dated 04-05-2023 received by the petitioners in both these matters from the university informing it about having forwarded recommendatory proposal to the State government under section 109 of the Maharashtra Public Universities Act on 02-05-2023.

We dispose of the writ petitions by directing the respondent no. 1 to take appropriate decision on the proposals received from the university dated 02-05-2023 in both these matters as expeditiously as possible and in any case within four weeks.
