The present proceeding is filed for giving direction to the Respondent to take decision on the proposal made for premature release of the Petitioner from jail. Notice is already given and both the sides are heard.

The submissions made and the contents of the petition show that the proposal is pending with Respondent since 8th February, 2020. It is the contention of the Petitioner that he has been behind bars since 15th July, 2006. In view of these circumstances, the decision needs to be taken at the earliest. So, the following order is passed:

I.

The petition is allowed.

II.

Direction is hereby given to the Respondent to take decision on the proposal within six weeks from today.

III.

In those terms, the petition is allowed.
