The applicant has been convicted under Section 354-A(2) of the Indian Penal Code and under Sections 8 and 12 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, and therefore, sentenced to suffer rigorous imprisonment for three years each and one year respectively and pay fine of Rs. 1000/-, Rs.5,000/- and Rs.500/- respectively. In default of payment of fine amount, he has sentenced to undergo simple imprisonment for two 1 / 2
APPLN-2279-22.odt weeks, one month and one week respectively. He has been behind the bars for little over six months. It will take time for the appeal to come up for hearing.

Considering the quantum of sentence and the fact that the appeal is not likely to be heard in near future, the execution of substantive sentence of imprisonment is suspended, pending the appeal, on executing P.R. bond in the sum of Rs.15,000/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand) and surety bond in the like amount.
