The Petitioner, presently is a Sarpanch of Khed Digar Gram Panchayat, Tq. Shahada, Dist.Nandurbar. He was elected on 22.09.2022. Protection against disqualification is valid till 22.09.2023. His first proposal seeking validation of his claim of belonging to the "Tokare Koli" Scheduled Tribe category, was presented in 2009. By an order passed on 20.09.2022, the Committee concluded that the Authority which issued the certificate in 2009, was not competent to do so. The Petitioner has now received a new certificate, which is tendered to the Committee.

In view of the above, this petition is disposed off with a direction to the Committee to decide the claim of the Petitioner on or before 15.09.2023.
