The petitioners in these two petitions are seeking a direction to respondent No. 2 - the Commissioner, Women and Child Development of the State of Maharashtra to decide the pending proposals of the petitioners for grant of certificate of registration for their child care homes. The said proposals have been moved under 1/2

930 + 935 the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015, and the Maharashtra State Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Rules, 2018.

We are of the opinion that, since these proposals are pending from the year 2018, such a direction can be granted so that the proposals are expeditiously disposed of.

In view of the above, the petitions are disposed of by directing respondent No. 2 - the Commissioner, Women and Child Development to decide the pending proposals of the petitioners within eight (08) weeks from today, if not already disposed of, in accordance with the law and the established procedure.
