The petitioner is before us with a grievance that his appeal filed on 12.10.2020 before the Zonal Manager, Life Insurance Corporation of India, Mumbai under Regulation 20 of the Life Insurance Corporation of India (Agents) Regulations, 2017 is pending. An application for condonation of delay has also been filed and the same is yet to be decided. The petitioner has not yet received any notice of hearing even on the condonation of delay application from the said authority. 2.

Since an innocuous prayer is put forth, this petition is disposed off expecting the Zonal Manager, LIC of India, Mumbai to deal with the khs/August 2022/8138

- 2 - condonation of delay application filed by the petitioner, if yet not decided, as expeditiously as possible and preferably on or before 21.10.2022 since the petitioner alone is the aggrieved party. 3.

Needless to state, in the event of the delay being condoned, the authority may then proceed to decide the appeal within 4 months. 4.

We make it clear that we have not expressed any opinion as regards the merits of the petitioner'

s case in relation to the condonation of delay application or the main appeal.

In the event, the LIC has any issue with the above directions, they are at liberty to approach this Court.
